Warped Wilson Line DBI Inflation

چکیده

We propose a novel inflationary scenario in string theory in which the inflaton field is aWilson line degree of freedom in the worldvolume of a probe Dp-brane, in a warped flux compactification. Kinetic terms for Wilson line fields on the world volume of a D-brane take a nonstandard DiracBorn-Infeld (DBI) form. Thus, we work in the framework of DBI inflation. This extends the original slow roll Wilson line inflationary scenario, where only the quadratic piece was considered. Warped DBI Wilson line inflation offers an attractive alternative to ordinary (position field) DBI inflation, inasmuch as observational and theoretical constraints get considerably relaxed. Besides the standard large non-Gaussianities in DBI scenarios, it is also possible to achieve an observable amount of gravitational waves. 1 E-mail address: [email protected] 2 E-mail address: [email protected]

A Microscopic Limit on Gravitational Waves from D-brane Inflation

We derive a microscopic bound on the maximal field variation of the inflaton during warped Dbrane inflation. By a result of Lyth, this implies an upper limit on the amount of gravitational waves produced during inflation. We show that a detection at the level r > 0.01 would falsify slow roll D-brane inflation. In DBI inflation, detectable tensors may be possible in special compactifications, pr...

Bispectrum in Single-Field Inflation Beyond Slow-Roll

We develop an integral form for the bispectrum in general single-field inflation whose domain of validity includes models of inflation where the background evolution is not constrained to be slowly varying everywhere. Our integral form preserves the squeezed-limit consistency relation, allows for fast evaluation of the bispectrum for all triangle configurations expediting the efficient comparis...

DBI Inflation using a One-Parameter Family of Throat Geometries

We demonstrate the possibility of examining cosmological signatures in the DBI inflation setup using the BGMPZ solution, a one–parameter family of geometries for the warped throat which interpolate between the Maldacena–Nuñez and Klebanov– Strassler solutions. The warp factor is determined numerically and subsequently used to calculate cosmological observables including the scalar and tensor sp...

Inflation at the Tip

We study the motion of a (space filling) D3-brane at the tip of a warped deformed conifold, looking for inflationary trajectories. In our setup no anti D3-brane is present and the inflaton potential is induced by threshold corrections to the superpotential. First we study the slow roll regime and find that, allowing for fine tuning, hilltop inflation compatible with CMB data can take place. The...

IR Inflation from Multiple Branes

In this paper we examine the IR inflation scenario using the DBI action, where we have N multiple branes located near the tip of a warped geometry. At large N the solutions are similar in form to the more traditional single brane models, however we find that it is difficult to simultaneously satisfy the WMAP bounds on the scalar amplitude and the scalar spectral index. We go on to examine two n...
